Raw Materials Green Coding System

HOW GREEN ARE YOUR PRODUCTS?

These days it is hard to know with all the descriptions that are tossed about. Many products are marketed as "made with 100% natural ingredients" but are really not deserving of that label since they have been modified chemically and still contain plenty of chemical by products from that process.

As a supplier we want to do our part in promoting ethical green chemicals. As part of our research we use suppliers that use ethical green practices, are transparent when divulging information about their chemicals, and use green renewable sources whenever possible. In order to pass on as much information as possible we have devised a GREEN CODING SYSTEM for our customers. Whenever possible we have supplied the following information with the product.

• 4:100% Naturally derived from renewable sources, possibly physically purified by

water, alcohol or energy.

• 3:100% Naturally derived and modified by chemical process, catalyst or reaction aids.

• 2: Derived from a combination of Natural and Synthetic sources.

• 1: Derived from Synthetic sources and chemically processed.

DIY Cosmetics strives to access raw materials that are manufactured here in the United States under strict guidelines and testing. Certificates of Analysis must be supplied to us in addition to actually being manufactured in the US, AU or NZ and not just distributed here. Our second choice would be green chemicals manufactured in Germany, UK, France and Italy or other well regulated European countries.
